Private Training

What is it?  I become your personal dog coach.  During our first meeting, we identify what you want changed and trained.  We create a customized training program to work toward your personal goal. 

Private training is an alternative program that teaches you WHY your dog is misbehaving and HOW to fix it.  ALL behavior issues can be addressed including:  aggression issues, pack order problems, improving leash management skills, solving fear and anxiety issues, house training, crate training, etc. 

Who is involved?  I encourage ALL family members to participate, and in some cases your Vet is included.  Consistency increases your success rate.  With aggression issues, I consult Master Trainer, Jim Stenfeldt, to offer his expertise (no additional cost to you).  Visit his website at www.cmdogtraining.com to schedule directly with him. 

When and where do our private sessions take place?  It can be in your home, at the park, at your vet's office, or at my behavior clinic in Sterling, IL. We schedule our sessions around your life.

Test your dog’s manners

Does your dog jump up on you, family, and/or visitors?

Has your dog ever growled at anyone?

Does your dog bark at everything?

Has your dog ever bitten another dog?

Does your dog ignore you when you call him?

Does he take YOU for a walk?

Does your dog ‘get mad’ and destroy things when you leave the house?

Does your dog rush to the door, bark, and or growl when the doorbell rings?

Does your dog play too roughly with other dogs or with kids?

Does your dog break a sit stay after 1 minute?

Does your dog break a down stay after 1 minute?

Does your dog dig holes?

Does he still use your carpet as a potty spot?

Is your dog protective over any item like a bone, a sock, food, or a toy?

Has your dog ruined any furniture, shoes, cabinets, or walls?

Has your dog ever nipped at anyone’s hands or feet?

Do you have to put the dog away when company comes over?

If your answered YES to one or all of these questions your dog needs training.  The highlighted items can become very serious issues if not changed.  Other behaviors like jumping and pulling are very easy to fix.  If you are desperate, or if you need a just a little help, I can help. 

You do not have to put up any annoying behaviors!  With proper training, your dog can change from ‘embarrassing’ to ‘ a joy to have around.’   With my guidance, I can change most your dog’s bad behaviors quite easily.  Don’t give up; give your puppy a chance.
