In many states (including Illinois)
it is illegal to 'sell or give
away' a puppy before the age of 8 weeks.
A good breeder will know why puppies should be kept together for
at least 8 weeks.
Early training and socialization reduces future behavior
problems.

We know where to get many
breeds; we usually have nice dogs for sale.
I can refer good breeders of the following breeds: Golden
Retrievers, Labradors, Border Collies, Tosa Inu Mastiff, Papillion, German
Shepherd, Flat Coat Retrievers, Boxers, Large Munsterlanders,
Soft-coated Wheaton Terrier, Havanese, Newfoundlanders,
Goldendoodles, and Labradoodles.
We work with a drug dog training company who occasionally has
dogs that have dropped out of their drug or bomb detection program.
These dogs are nice, socialized, well-mannered, but would
make better pets than working dogs.

| Make a dog decision with
your head not your heart.
Research the breed to ensure it fits with lifestyle.
Don't get a Border Collie if
you are not active. Don't get a Golden Retriever if
your don't like vacuuming.
Research the breeder. A good breeder will
offer some sort of guarantee.
Meet the parents. Puppies inherit the traits of
BOTH parents.
This will help you predict
future health issues and personality traits.
QUICK TIPS Don't pick the shy one.
Don't buy littermates "to keep each
other company."
Cross sex. If you have a
male, get a female and vise versa.
